Gillian Kyle at the Country Living Christmas Fair!

Its nearly Christmas and that means the Country Living Christmas Fair  at the SEC has come round again; I can scarcely believe it but this is my 5th year exhibiting at it. It doesn't feel so long ago that I pitched up with fear and trepidation for the first time and laid out my freshly printed bags and tea towels on a trestle table for sale. Our stand is a wee bit fancier this year (please excuse our grainy photographs), but the set-up seems to take us longer every time! But, after a sterling effort from team GK our stand looks great, with the new Fish & Chips  range taking pride of place.

As usual, there are some marvellous Scottish gifts, art, craft and design on offer; its great to see the Scottish Gift market so well represented at events like this. Makes you proud of the natural creativity and inventiveness of us Scots! But there are also lots of businesses who have come from much further afield. I spoke to a couple of nice chaps from Devon during the set-up, and to paraphrase a beloved Scottish TV ad -  that's devotion for you. There's also an area dedicated to indie food and drink makers where you can sample anything from Scottish cream liqueurs to New Zealand Pies (I can personally vouch for the deliciousness of both) and demos from chefs, designers and makers.
