What better way to start a conversation between Scots in any part of the world than to ask them which is their favourite Tunnocks biscuit?
Here at Gillian Kyle, we recognise that along with our world renowned whiskies, iconic Irn-Bru and hairy haggis, Tunnocks is an essential ingredient of the Scottish psyche. Founded in 1890 by Thomas Tunnock, the company now makes 80 tonnes of caramel each week – that’s 1.5 tonnes an hour. They buy in about 25 tonnes of coconut per month and about 15 tonnes of cocoa butter each week. With these they produce between 10/12 million biscuits each week. With a huge fan club in the Middle East including Iraq, Kuwait and the Yemen Tunnocks is sold in over 40 countries worldwide.
Boyd Tunnock has been a massive supporter of our Gillian Kyle designs right from the start and he gave Gillian 500 tea cakes to make her wedding cake. Gillian Kyle now has numerous Tunnocks Scottish gifts including Tea Towels, Mugs, Jugs, Coasters, Place Mats, Plates, Tea bag Tidies, Biscuit storage tins, Cushions, Greeting cards, Aprons, Tote bags ,Tee shirts, Baby vests, Bibs and Art Prints.
