I set the intention to blog and share more this year and I’m pleased to say that I’m sticking to it so far - and really enjoying it too.
So, I’ve just finalised some new Scottish gift and home designs for the summer season and I thought you might like a wee sneak peak? Meet Dougal the very Scottish Highland Coo (keeping the rain off with a snazzy black brolly) and Hamish the wee dug in his wee tartan coat. They’re part of a larger range of (hopefully) stylish and witty Scottish designs featuring lots of different Scottish imagery like stags, castles, pipers, puffins, Westies, whisky and irn-bru - the modern, the traditional and even the kitsch! I guess in essence its a celebration and exploration of Scottish-ness, which is basically what Gillian Kyle the brand is all about.
I’m pleased with the grey, black and white colourway which I think looks modern and fresh - if you know my work you’ll know I do like to stay as far away as possible from the tartan tat version of Scottish gifts and souvenirs.
These designs will be on a range of Scottish souvenir/gift/home products like tea towels, aprons, mugs, placemats, totes and coasters. I’ll share pics of the finished items when we get them - and look out for the new designs on gilliankyle.com in the near future.
Also - and you heard it here first - I’m working at putting the finishing touches on a new range of Scottish inspirational slogan designs, hopefully with a wee humorous and irreverent touch. I’ll keep you posted...
Till next time,
