Winter Olympics 2026: Team GB, Scotland & a Lot of Ice
There’s something quite brilliant about the Winter Olympics isn't there?
All that snow and ice. Grown adults voluntarily hurling themselves down mountains at alarming speeds. For context, I can barely walk across my decking at this time of year without drama.
Team GB have had some fantastic moments this year, and as always, Scotland has been right in the thick of it.
The curlers, in particular, just know how to put us through it. One stone sliding slowly down the ice and suddenly you’re shouting at the television like it can hear you. It’s tense. It’s brilliant. It’s very Scottish.
Out on the slopes, our skiers and freestyle athletes have been fearless. Proper grit. Proper determination. The kind that makes you sit up a little straighter on the sofa.
What I love most is seeing Scottish names up there on the world stage. Quietly confident, occasionally fiery, always resilient. For a wee small country, we don’t half show up.
Winter sport is not gentle. It is freezing, high-speed and unforgiving. Which makes watching it from home with a mug of tea and a cushion behind your back feel like a very good life choice.
That was the thinking behind my Winter Winners event. A little celebration of Team GB and especially our own Scottish superstars. A reminder that if they’re battling the elements, we can at least be properly cosy while cheering them on.
Winter Winners was meant to finish on Sunday. But with the Games delivering so many brilliant moments it feels only right to keep it going for a few more days.
So 20% off everything is still live for now. Cushions to courie into. Mugs for endless tea during the curling. Umbrellas for when Scotland decides to behave like winter even without the snow.
If you’re going to support Scotland, you may as well do it in comfort!
