Joyland

Been working on a summery British seaside range featuring some classic seaside imagery.  I’m a HUGE vintage typography and signage geek and its one of my favourite subjects to draw and explore through design, so this is a fun wee project for me.

I had a great time gathering research - lots of visits to wonderful seaside caffs and amusement arcades. Lots of ice-creams and chips consumed! Its a very visually rich and exciting subject to explore, steeped in nostalgia and with layers of historical and cultural meaning. Right up my street in fact.

I’m pleased with how its going, and although it may never make it to production I’ve had a blast developing it so far.
