Its that time of year again. You might have noticed? The subtle, telltale signs are all there that Christmas is a-coming. The John Lewis xmas ad is being aired every 15 minutes and the pressure’s on to come up with the perfect Dad, brother, boyfriend, husband, flatmate (delete as appropriate) pressie. I’ve put together a selection of my favourite wee gems in the ‘best Scottish gifts for men’ category. I’m not saying that its essential to buy Scottish-made or Scottish-designed this Christmas, but I think once you’ve clapped eyes on this lot you’ll find it hard to resist. And listen gents (subtle hint alert)…please remember that it’s better to give than to receive.
Tell him exactly what you think of him with my heather red organic cotton brushed fleece hoodie. Its incredibly warm and cosy – great for showing your colours whilst wearing the kilt, with jeans or to the gym.
For the man who has everything but loves Tunnock’s biscuits. These are very limited edition indeed so get yours while they’re still able to be got.
Made from Johnstone’s of Elgin Scottish tweed, these hi-tops are a brilliant mixture of grown-up and laid-back, comfy and sophisticated. Guaranteed brownie points, surely. How could you not love these?
Scotland… famous for its humour, Irn Bru and Scotch Pies; and possibly some other things too. Our Scottish Breakfast mug is an excellent go-to gift for a man who knows the value of fine Scottish cuisine.
Sheep’s napa leather and contemporary Scottish Tweed in a bright colour-block design – a bold, modern and sophisticated update of the classic man’s weekend bag.
This Scottish t-shirt print is a tasty wee trip down memory lane. Light and easy to send abroad if you have expat pals or relatives who might like a wee reminder of home too.
Its hard to overstate how much I love this beautiful scarf, woven by expert weavers Begg, here in Scotland. It could easily be unisex so would make a great Scottish gift for a boyfriend/partner/husband who likes to share (from time to time).
Another one of mine, from our new Fish&Chips range. It’s a nostalgic wee look at the greatest of Scottish guilty pleasures, a fish supper. Makes a fun, man-sized BBQ or Sunday Roast apron for a keen cook.
Wow, this book by Ian Lawson is just so beautiful! It blows me away and makes me feel just delighted to be Scottish. A timeless Scottish gift for a man and a definite future heirloom.
Wow, what a rock and roll shirt from brilliant Scottish clothiers Brora. Ok, so it’s certainly a statement, but isn’t it a beautiful one? Possibly the male equivalent of the little black dress. It would be hard not to look good in this.
