Enjoy More Time in Scotland… (br) Yes folks, on this the longest day of the year, The Shetland Islands up there at the top of your UK map will have a whopping 19 hours and 3 minutes of daytime.(br)
That’s 2 hours and 20 minutes of quality time more than London. And that’s even before you factor in the additional daylight gifted through refraction pre-sunrise and post-sunset!
If you’re considering squeezing the most out of this day, you could be teeing off on one of The Shetlands’ 4 golf courses at 3:34am while watching the sunrise. Or, if you’re in the Inverness area you can still play a brisk round teeing off at 7:30pm to be tapping in with the last rays of the day.
For a more sedate evening you may be watching Messi and Co kick off their second World Cup Russia 2018 match at 7pm. If so, you can still chill for an hour+ afterwards with your current read and a Punk IPAbefore having to turn to artificial illumination.
However you are planning to enjoy the Scottish Summer Solstice and the gift of more Scottish time, consider brightening up your walls with one of my new colourful Scottish clocks.
